Jennifer Henning

Jennifer Henning is co-founder of Hope for Chernobyl’s Child and currently serves as President. Jennifer’s educational background is in Accounting and Business Management. She has extensive experience working and volunteering in the non-profit sector and has a passion for the welfare of children, especially those in the Chernobyl region. Jennifer has traveled to Belarus multiple times and has seen first hand the health and economic affects that the Chernobyl disaster has had on the region. Jennifer and her husband, Phil, have two children and they host two Belarusian children during the summer, as well.


Elizabeth Tennison

Mother of 11, grandmother of 13, Elizabeth Tennison is co-founder and serves as Vice-President on the Board of Hope for Chernobyl's Child. Long involved with kids as a Sunday School teacher and King County 4-H leader and Association President, she is President of the Board of a local health respite hosting program for children from the Chernobyl area. Elizabeth has visited Belarus many times and has close ties with children and helpful adults in the Chernobyl area. Her family has hosted six different children in their home over the past fifteen years. She brings her experience, enthusiasm and commitment to the betterment of these children in need.


Renee Carpenter

Renee Carpenter is co-founder of Hope for Chernobyl’s Child and serves as Secretary. Renee and her family have shared their home with Natasha from Belarus for 5 summers and Katya (also from Belarus) for 1 summer. She began hosting at the urging of a friend and quickly developed a passion for Belarusian children. Renee comes to HCC with career experience in non-profit. She has worked in the field of family support with agencies such as Children’s Home Society, Tacoma Pierce County Health Department, Indochinese Cultural and Service Center and Tacoma Urban League.
 

Cynthia Reid

Cynthia Reid has been involved with the children of Belarus for over 10 years and started hosting in 2004. Cynthia traveled to Belarus in 2004 to see first hand the needs of the children there. She is active in fundraising for the organization and is excited to serve on the board of Hope for Chernobyl's Child.
