In April, 1986 the world’s worst nuclear disaster in history occurred – Chernobyl. For most of us, it is a long forgotten event that once crossed our headlines. But for some 600,000 children around Chernobyl it remains a daily reality.
The people still living in the region suffer from constant radiation exposure, especially the children. Medical and dental care is lacking. Poor wages and limited employment often cause families to be unable to provide for the basic needs of their children such as food, clothing, medicines, etc. As you will find here, there often seems to be no hope for improved living conditions for many of these children.
Through child sponsorship we strive to restore… Hope for Chernobyl’s Child.
